Airbus has disclosed their delivery figures for August 2020. The aircraft manufacturer delivered 39 commercial aircraft comprising of 35 A320 family aircraft, 2 A330s and 2 A350s. This included delivering the first A321neo to Bahraini flag carrier Gulf Air and the first A330-900 to Portuguese carrier Orbest.

While Boeing delivered 13 aircraft in total, including deliveries for 9 commercial aircraft which included 4 B787-9s with United Airlines taking 2 while Vistara and ANA took one each with the remaining 5 deliveries being freighters which included 3 B777Fs and 2 B767s.
Airbus ends the month of August with a backlog of 7,501 aircraft that are yet to be delivered. The backlog comprises of:
- 524 A220s
- 6,091 A320 Family aircraft (6,034 of the ‘neo’ variant)
- 319 A330s (285 of the ‘neo’ variant)
- 558 A350s
- 9 A380s
On the other hand, Boeing had a backlog of 4,387 aircraft at the end of August after ASC 606 adjustments. The backlog is for:
- 3,455 B737s
- 12 B747s
- 84 B767s
- 354 B777s
- 48s B787s
