Dublin Headquartered lessor, AerCap today released their performance for 2020 where they had raised around $8.3 billion.
The lessor had signed lease agreements for 97 aircraft during the year despite the COVID-19 Pandemic wreaking havoc in the aviation industry. The lessor also purchased 36 new aircraft and sold 46 aircraft in 2020.
However, it must be noted that the lessor saw signed lease agreements fall in 2020 as AerCap had managed to ink lease agreements for 192 aircraft in 2019 compared to the 97 aircraft in 2020.
In the 4th quarter of 2020 alone, the lessor raised $2.8 billion and signed lease agreements for 31 aircraft which consisted of 22 narrowbody aircraft and 9 widebody aircraft while selling off 12 aircraft.
AerCap purchased 18 aircraft during Q4 2020 which included:
- 12 Airbus A320neo Family
- 1 Boeing 787-9
- 5 Embraer E2s
